Care Circuit – Connect Center for Youth: Join the Young Professionals Network for a behind-the-scenes experience at the Connect Center for Youth. Participants will support the Backpack Program, meet Executive Director Ben Williams, tour the facility, and enjoy a continental breakfast.
This immersive experience intentionally blends doing, learning, and reflecting—offering YPs an authentic look at how youth-focused nonprofits operate and how cross-sector leadership contributes to a more equitable Capital Region.
Agenda
7:30 – 8:45 AM | Hands-On Service:
Backpack Program Participants will actively support the Connect Center’s Backpack Program, a core initiative addressing food insecurity among local youth and families. Arrival, welcome, and continental breakfast. Program overview and community need Hands-on assembly of weekend food backpacks Informal conversation with staff about operations and local impact.
8:45 – 9:30 AM | “Systems to Stories”:
Impact Walkthrough A guided site walk and facilitated discussion connecting programs to broader systems change. Walkthrough of the Connect Center space and programs. Overview of challenges facing local youth and families. How Connect Center programs respond and create impact. Q & A with Executive Director Ben Williams.
Additional Visit Details:
Parking: Free street parking is available along Johnston Avenue and nearby side streets. Please allow extra time for parking and arrival.
Dress Code: Business casual with an emphasis on comfort. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for the hands-on volunteer activity. Layers are encouraged.
