YPN Volunteer Night: Backpack Stuffing for St. Catherine’s Kids 

Tuesday, July 9 | 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Join the Young Professionals Network for a meaningful evening of giving back! We’re teaming up with St. Catherine’s Center for Children to stuff backpacks with essential school supplies for children in need across the Capital Region. Each year St. Catherine’s launches an ambitious campaign to collect more than 300 new, fully stocked backpacks for the youth in their care. These backpacks support children across a wide range of programs—including foster care, residential, prevention, homeless services, kinship, and community-based care—serving 26 counties and 24 school districts. 

Thanks to community generosity, over 200 backpacks have already been collected—now it’s time to fill them! Volunteers will help pack each backpack with new school supplies. Your time and effort will directly help children start the school year with confidence, dignity, and the tools they need to succeed. 

On behalf of St. Catherine’s and the families they serve, thank you for showing up, giving back, and making a real impact. 

Can’t make it, but still want to help? YPN will be accepting new school supply donations at the Chamber Main office at 5 Computer Drive S or the Cliston Park office at 58 Clifton Country Road Suite 102. 


  • Loose-leaf paper (packets – wide or college ruled)
  • #2 pencils (sharpened if possible)
  • One-, two-, and three-subject notebooks (each backpack gets 3 or 4)
  • Two-pocket folders (each backpack gets 6 in different colors)
  • Composition notebooks (each backpack gets 4)
  • Pens (blue and black)
  • Rulers (standard and metric)
  • Glue sticks
  • Pencil cases
  • Large pink erasers and pencil-top erasers
  • Tissues (small travel-sized packs preferred)
  • Crayons (24-count packs)
  • Washable markers
  • Blunt-tip scissors
  • Highlighters
  • Dry-erase markers
  • Color pencils
