Centrally located in the Capital District of New York Frog Alley is one of the fastest growing New York State craft brewers earning recognition with award winning beer styles.  The brewery and taproom located in Schenectady collaborates with Schenectady Community College to provide practical brewing experience and first-hand knowledge of technical aspects to brewing sciences.

Frog Alley is currently expanding sales structure and recruiting for Business Development Manager.

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for supporting brewery sales initiatives in current territory to build brand equity and develop Retail and Distributor network that drives volume and revenue.  BDM will align goals along with CEO and Brewers that establishes Frog Alley as a leading craft brewer in New York State.

Establish and grow brand equity for brands within wholesale and retail environments – BDM will establish call frequency and manage distributor relationships:

  • Inventory Review            
  • Retail Call Frequency – key on and off premise accounts
  • Establish National Account Plan for each independent market – work directly with Chain and Wholesaler Key Account Teams
  • Initiate sales incentive and out of the box creative ideas to get share of mind with distributor network and set Frog Alley as segment leader
  • Develop and monitor target distribution.  Continuously build and refresh account development and provide required reports from the distribution network
  • Identify “craft centric” accounts and provide select distribution plan that establishes Frog Alley as elite local craft entity
  • Host retail and distributor network visits to Frog Alley facility
  • Strategic communication platform within network
  • Build Buzz – Awareness and Excitement for Frog Alley – attend and create fun interactive sales promotions
  • Expectation for Frog Alley BDA to provide “Best in Class” ideas and vision 
  • Attend appropriate craft festivals – develop brewer events / promotions
  • Communicate Frog Alley brands via e-mail and social media networks working with social media team that is fun and at the same time establishing a quality perception that enhances brand equity
  • Provide weekly reporting platform to CEO that utilizes CRM tool that includes volume and revenue recaps of performance
  • Be the Local Market expert – understand emerging brand / packaging / price point / beer style opportunities that support brewery mission
  • Collaborate with CEO / Brewers on potential expansion ideas and perpetual discussions on revenue growth and brand equity opportunities

  • If you have been in the Craft Beer Business, you know this job is outside normal business hours – travel and weekend responsibilities are paramount to position
  • Associates Degree and/or combination of experience with comparable knowledge required 
  • Compensation and Bonus incentive plan based on industry experience and performance
