ABOUT ALBANY COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP:
Albany Community Action Partnership (ACAP) is a source of direct support for families who live in poverty in Albany, New York. The majority of program participants are from economically vulnerable families with incomes below 100% of the federal poverty threshold (or $21,330 for a family of three - the average family size of ACAP’s customer population). For over 50 years ACAP has been providing a network of programs which serve the needs of children and families living in poverty.
Our prominent programs include: Early Head Start, Head Start, Energy Assistance and Weatherization, Community and Career Services, including Dress for Success. Through its programs, ACAP has created positive change in the lives of children and families in Albany County. ACAP embodies the spirit of hope, improving communities and making the Capital Region a better place.
Responsibilities• Responsible for providing janitorial and maintenance services for identified facilities and grounds • Responsible for compliance with program performance standards and regulations, including the maintenance of all identified locations to meet recognized health and safety procedures and the requirements of outside regulators • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of janitorial and maintenance techniques. Actively participates in training programs for new janitorial/maintenance processes and procedures. • Properly stores and accounts for inventory of program supplies and material. Maintains all equipment used on the job in good working order• Perform routine inspections of interior and exterior areas to ensure areas are free of safety hazards; perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure they are in proper working order and free of safety hazards• Assist with moving office furniture, fixtures, classroom equipment and materials to support staffing changes, relocations, remodels and program expansion.• Maintain accurate records/documentation of program equipment• Represent agency interests at meetings and activities with external stakeholders• Assist program team with planned activities
Two (2) years of maintenance/janitorial trade experience required. High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred. Possession of a valid driver’s license required. Must be able to get to site locations; reliable transportation preferred. Strong interpersonal & communication skills. Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus.

CLASSIFICATION / HOURS:
Non-Exempt; 35 hours per week- Monday-Friday - 2:30PM-10PM but will need flexibility; 48 weeks per year. Starting $12.50 per hour with potential for increase based on performance.
