Homebased Region Manager

This position oversees the facilitation of a home based program within Head Start to prepare parents and children for school readiness in a daycare setting.  This includes but is not limited to establishing needs for education curriculum, health & nutrition services, family services and social emotional support conducted in a home based setting.  This position requires regular travel to make contact with staff, families, and other agencies. 

Home visits, family meetings and events are temporarily conducted via Zoom due to current pandemic conditions.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall responsibility for implementing and monitoring Home-based services for 116 Early Head Start and 46 Head Start children as per Head Start Performance Standards.

Works as part of the Head Start management team in the planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the service delivery related to Early Head Start and Head Start home-based programming.

Provides direct supervision, training and monitoring of the Home-base Coordinator, Home Visitors and Project Assistants.

Assists Home Visitors with home visit planning, including child and family goals and objectives.  Ensures home visits are planned that are in accordance with each child’s needs based on observation and recording of children’s interests and current level of functioning.

Accompanies Home Visitors on home visits, as needed, to provide guidance and support, documenting observations and providing feedback.

Assists administrative team in planning and facilitating family engagement activities, such as Family Committee meetings, family activities, continuing education opportunities, family literacy activities, newsletters, orientations, and workshops.

Participates in record keeping, data collection in support of PIR, Community Assessment, program outcome evaluation and complete monthly reports.

May need to assist with case load for service delivery as needed.

Some evening and weekend work may occasionally be required for events such as home visits, family meetings, social or community events, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field.

3 years’ experience in a managerial capacity and proven experience with supervision, staffing and performance development. 

Working knowledge of human services programs and other resources and the availability of such programs in the community. 

Knowledge of community services and family centered practices.

Additional experience working with minority and low-income populations, pregnant moms and children birth to age five.  May be required to lift up to 40 pounds.

Acceptable tuberculosis screening results, a clear criminal records check and an initial health exam are required post job offer and prior to employment.

Valid Driver’s License necessary.
