Instructional Designer (Online)

The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is embarking on a strategic initiative to expand the college’s educational reach and impact by developing online programs for individuals seeking transformative careers in healthcare and the health sciences.

 This position is responsible for collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and others to design, develop, and implement online and hybrid courses. Individuals will apply instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive learning experiences that both align with existing course learning objectives and follow pedagogical best practices. Further, individuals will provide guidance and support to faculty in selecting instructional strategies and technologies that enhance student learning experiences and meet accessibility requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology with a science background; or Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with experience designing online learning. Portfolio and/or examples of online learning that the candidate has developed.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 3-5 years experience developing and designing online courses and/or other instructional resources. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to produce high-quality content within tight project timelines. Experience using Quality Matters or similar course design standards/guidelines. Experience using eLearning authoring tools to design interactive learning solutions.

Position Salary Range $40-$50 per hour
