First New York Federal Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator for our busy mortgage department. The MLO will proactively solicit new residential mortgage business and sell Credit Union mortgage products, while at all times striving to achieve loan quality and meeting goals. A business referral network must be developed through a commitment of outreach utilizing marketing, cold-calling, and networking activities. Meeting with prospective borrowers will be required to include reviewing and analyzing credit and financial data, determining borrowers financing objectives, presenting appropriate products, providing pricing, locking in a rate and submitting completed loan applications for loan processing. Will be expected to provide an exceptional member experience by overseeing the loan process from origination to close with continual communication with members and business partners. Compliance with all Federal and State Mortgage Regulations will be expected.
Three to four years of residential mortgage lending experience required. Must have or be willing to obtain a NYS Mortgage Originator License and have a valid driver’s license. The MLO will be expected to work independently with limited supervision, also in a team environment, be detail oriented and possess excellent oral and written presentation skills.
