The team member in this role is tasked with managing complex strategic business development efforts that require successful interdisciplinary collaboration and effective project management and communication. Managing, monitoring, tracking and reporting on prioritized activities led by the Strategic Account Management team that is charged with engaging par providers to successfully make the transition from Fee-For-Service to Value-Based Payment (VBP), Alternate Payment Models (APM) and Integrated Behavioral Health. 

Tasks will include managing the following projects and initiatives: managing strategic business development initiatives; implementing a comprehensive strategic account planning framework and governance/communication processes; supporting the implementation of the MVP VBP Playbooks that are developed by the Senior Leader, Network Strategy and Programs via internal VBP workgroups; creating innovative process and tools and materials to support provider engagement; support the definition and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related VBP engagement; tracking account management plans, along with contract timelines and KPIs; development of VBP proposals and contracting associated with strategic business development opportunities; tracking the implementation of VBP contracts and monitoring performance; oversee the scheduling and delivery of financial and quality settlements; manage ongoing program operations, serve as a liaison to support the translation from program proposals to implementation; and accountable for responses to external and internal VBP program surveys and audits as needed. 

Job duties include:

Lead cross functional collaboration and project management efforts needed to support and advance strategic Network business development initiatives
Identify/develop/implement key processes, procedures, and collateral needed by Strategic Account Management team to successfully align, operate, communicate, and scale activities
Key individual responsible for communicating with and aligning with other departments (Health Management, Network Management, Actuarial Services, Operations, Informatics, IT etc.) with respect to business development and key account plans
Tracks strategic account management engagement plans and agreements throughout the agreement life cycle; from proposal, contracting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to ensure contractual obligations are met Ensure that external partner engagement activities such as Joint Operating Committee and prioritized initiative tasks are being executed, tracked, and delivered on time to ensure strategic goals are achieved
Organize/run point on all internal VBP meetings (bi-weekly leadership meeting, program financial review and signing meetings, support the VBP Steering Committee meeting, support internal regional account strategy meetings, etc.) Accountable business owner for internal/NYS/Federal reporting requirements for VBP working with Informatics to meet regulatory reporting requirements Regularly work to help support the implementation of MVP’s VBP Playbook and standardized VBP tools being created by Network Strategy team in coordination with key subject matter experts across the enterprise
Track the development and publication of strategic account plans, plans associated with key initiatives, contracting and settlement schedules and KPIs Develop policies, procedures, workflows, and training materials to support internal audit policies associated with VBP contracting within MVP.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education Minimum Education: BA/BS in business, health care administration or related field. Masters or professional degree preferred. Equivalent amount of education and related experience considered.

Minimum Experience:
At least seven years of health care experience
At least five years of increasing responsibilities in working with providers and provider organizations. Minimum of three years’ experience in project and program management Minimum of three years’ experience working with healthcare data
At least three years of increasing experience in the Value Based Payment programs, Alternate Payment Models or Population Health Experience highly preferred.

Knowledge of administrative datasets (i.e. claims, eligibility, etc.) reporting /analytic uses (e.g. cost and utilization reporting, disease management, quality measurement etc.) and terminology (e.g. PMPM, and per 1000 measures, diagnosis/procedure codes, HEDIS and NQF quality measures, episode groupers, risk adjustment, etc.)
Travel as required throughout MVP Health Care’s service area
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Visio and Word). Preferred Skills Experience managing personnel Strategic account management and business development experience
Experience managing contract life cycle (managing, documenting, and implementing contracts, etc.)
Actual contracting and negotiation experience is a plus Experience leading through innovation and change management
Health information management and exchange knowledge
Knowledge of payer operations workflows and/or experience is a plus
Knowledge of CRM system implementation and adoption
Experience collaborating with providers and/or regulators
