The Network Project Manager will accomplish Network strategic objectives by leading complex and interdisciplinary projects/initiatives that drive growth, including Medicare expansion efforts in 2021 and beyond. This individual will work in coordination with the Sr. Leader, Network Strategy and other Network leadership and have responsibility for projects including the direction, workstream coordination, implementation, execution, controls and completion of project, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. The Project Manager has oversight of the purpose and status of the projects set by Network at MVP and can use this oversight to support project-level activities to ensure the project goals are achieved.

The Network Project Manager will work closely with leadership including Network Strategy, Network Management, Health Management, Product Development, Finance/Actuary, Informatics, Operations, and across the organization to support the primary goal of Medicare expansion implementation efforts as well translate strategy and innovation planning into tactics enabling the delivery of high-value, high-quality, cost-effective care (where required).

Responsibilities to include:

  • Support the advancement of product relationships or innovative solutions to grow our core business (across all lines of business)

  • Project management of new product offering specific for members who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid (dual-eligible) to enable market growth in MVP’s current service area and segment as well as forthcoming changes to NYS processes that will lead to higher enrollment in 2022 and 2023

  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity and quality standards; resolving problems; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change

  • Responsible for leading and/or representing Network on corporate and non-corporate projects level projects and will identify cross-project dependencies to proactively mitigate as necessary

  • Manage external vendor relations within Network (as needed) and performs as a functional bridge amongst external vendors as well as internal stakeholders

  • Responsible for the gathering and articulation of business requirements as it relates to the Network department and communicating with interdepartmental stakeholders

  • Evaluate all business processes and assist in developing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency

  • Manage relationships with internal MVP customers to ensure a high quality of service, resolving issues promptly and ensuring customer satisfaction

  • Work closely with management to develop objective performance measurements to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all project team members

  • Maintain detailed documentation and enterprise communication as it relates to projects and departmental initiatives

  • Assist in forecasting requirements, preparing a budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions (where required)

In the future, position will require occasional travel between MVP offices and attend meetings, business development opportunities, and trainings as required. Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree business administration, business management, health policy, health care administration or related field or three or more years of related work experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum five years’ professional experience in a health-related environment or in formal Project Management role

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary, high-performance work teams

  • Strong project management and business analysis background preferred

  • Project management program (PMP) certification preferred

  • Experience with provider outreach, adoption and business development support preferred

  • Exhibited skills in leading program development and management efforts involving the coordination of resources and goals across departments and multiple related projects

  • Candidates with strong analytics background coupled with policy, network management, healthcare product development/strategy experience, value-based programs, and/or New York State and CMS innovation programs preferred

  • Experience with, or exposure to, Lean and Agile/Scrum; Jobs to Be Done, Outcome Based Innovation, and Design Thinking experience preferred.

  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management as well as experience in forecasting requirements, preparing a budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

  • Exceptional skills in critical thinking and problem solving

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Skilled in decision-making and conflict resolution

  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally
