Alaant is recruiting for a Senior Software Developer for our client in Albany, NY area. Our client is a manufacturer who specializes in automation and research and is well-known for their groundbreaking materials that supports our environment.


What you will do:

  • Be comfortable coding with their custom business applications and production equipment.
  • Capture automation of data and use this to further enhance the business to move forward.
  • This will be a role where you work as a team but more heavily as an individual contributor.
  • The ideal candidate must be comfortable and able to pivot based on business needs.


What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • 5+ years using various languages in professional environment ex. C, C#, SQL, RStudio, Python.
  • Experience in an R&D environment a must in the scientific field.
  • Experience with prototype hardware integrations such as sensors, cameras etc.
  • Experience with machine learning or AI tools a plus!
  • Ability to train others as needed.
  • Strong mathematics background.
