Sourcing Finance Analyst

Primary Role: 

This position will be a key member of the Manufacturing Finance Team, supporting both Finance and Procurement. The individual will take ownership of all raw material cost analysis such as inflation/deflation, purchase price variance, and total purchases vs. plan and prior year. They will also play a large role in the month-end closing process, inclusive of calculating journal entries, reconciling respective general ledger accounts, analyzing trends, and supporting ad-hoc requests.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Analyze monthly inflation/deflation, purchase price variance, freight expense, and overall material purchases

2. Identify and implement reporting improvements & efficiencies

3. Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly closing process

4. Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

5. Coordinate forecasts and budget for inflation/deflation, purchase price variance, and overall material purchases

6. Work with Procurement team to identify price discrepancies

7. Support procurement team efforts on business cases and cost reduction opportunities

8. Verify accurate standard and actual costs each month and perform annual standards update for raw materials

9. Assist with bill of materials updates via the engineering change order process (ECO)

10. Fulfill various ad-hoc requests to support the Procurement and Finance teams in achieving performance metrics

11. Drive overall business process improvement

12. Document processes and procedures

13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Required): 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Strong PC skills and excellence in MS office suite of products

• Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, accounting and financial analysis skills

• Ability to meet work and project deadlines in a timely fashion, with high quality output

• Demonstrated ability to develop and drive standardized processes

• Self-motivated, able to work both independently and cross-functionally

• Flexible, with the ability to embrace and initiate change

Strong attention to detail

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Qualifications (Preferred): 

• Minimum of 2-4+ years of relevant experience

• Six Sigma Certification

• Demonstrated Manufacturing/Operations Finance background
