Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Videographer. Reporting to the Vice President of Communications and Marketing, the Videographer is a visual storyteller who is responsible for strengthening and promoting the College’s brand and enhancing the College’s visibility through the production of high-quality multimedia content. The Videographer will shoot, edit, and produce multiple creative video projects from concept to completion. The individual will work closely with colleagues in the Office of Communications and Marketing to develop strategies to utilize video assets to achieve College goals. The individual will manage all aspects of video production projects including, but not limited to: participation in project meetings, development of creative briefs, management of story lines, concepts, and scripts, shoot and location coordination, development of project schedules, review for quality assurance and cross platform deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • High level of proficiency in video with DSLR camera and editing and mastery of Final Cut X and After Effects. Knowledge of multi-camera shoots. Archiving and storing media, excellent communication skills, creative problem solving. Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to use multi-camera work-flow, DSLR camera workflows, C100, compression standards. Multi-channel delivery methods.
  • Ability to move, lift, set up and break down photography and videography equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights and weekends, as required.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot hardware and software.
  • Maintain quality control and consistent look and feel throughout production of video assignments.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and thrive in a collaborative work environment.
  • Be self-directed, self-motivated, and self-sufficient.
  • Take responsibility for decisions, performance, and outcomes; behaves in a responsible manner with a positive attitude; shows self-awareness and openness to feedback.
  • Knowledge of video production, visual storytelling, archiving and storing.
  • Ability to operate a teleprompter.

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in videography, broadcast journalism, film, photography, or communications.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a professional video production environment is required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to stand and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
