Wednesday, May 18, 2022 (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Let’s Participate in United Way’s 518 Day: The Largest Community Celebration!

United Way's 518 Day provides opportunities for individuals, families, and groups to be part of solutions to building a more resilient Capital Region through volunteerism and community impact.  This year YPN will participate in 518 Day with AIM Services, Inc. and we need your help!

We’re looking for members of YPN to volunteer their time at the Common Roots Community Garden, managed by AIM’s Employment Services Program, that fosters everyone’s ability to impart meaning on their own lives as well as the greater Saratoga area.

Common Roots has a small apple orchard, plum trees, and a greenhouse on site.  There are raised garden beds to allow everyone to participate in gardening. The day will consist of prepping the grounds, with lots of digging, raking, planting, building garden beds and more.

Bring garden gloves with you as well as any gardening tools. Dress to be in the dirt throughout the day. Lunch will be provided; volunteers may bring their own snack or water. Bathroom available on-sit

Help us, help AIM Services, Inc.  Commit Your Time to the Common Roots Community!

Established in 1921 as the Harrisburg Welfare Federation (now the United Way of the Capital Region).  United Way is the catalyst in building community change by bringing hearts, minds, and resources together. UWGCR's role in the community continues to evolve. Today, they work with hundreds of individuals and organizations that share a collective vision for what is possible when we Unite our efforts.
