Description

Let’s Participate in United Way’s 518 Day: The Largest Community Celebration!

United Way’s 518 Day provides opportunities for individuals, families, and groups to be a part of solutions to building a more resilient Capital Region through volunteerism and community impact. This year YPN will participate in 518 Day with The South End Children's Cafe and we need your help!

The South End Children's Cafe is thrilled to announce that they are the proud new owners of 33 Rensselaer Street! As they embark on this exciting journey, YPN is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us in some initial cleanup tasks to prepare the space for its transformation. Get a sneak peek of the new building while pitching in with tasks like weeding, ripping up carpeting, painting walls, raking, and beautifying the outdoor space. Your support will make a huge difference as they embark on this exciting new chapter!

- Ability to perform physical tasks such as weeding, ripping up carpeting, painting walls, and raking.
- Experience with manual labor and maintenance work is a plus but not required.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to follow instructions and work collaboratively with other volunteers.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the beautification of community spaces and making a tangible difference in the local area.

Dress to be comfortable and get messy! Closed toe shoes are a must!

About United Way of the Capital Region.

Established in 1921 as the Harrisburg Welfare Federation (now the United Way of the Capital Region). United Way is the catalyst in building community change by bringing hearts, minds, and resources together. Since 1921, our neighbors and friends living in Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry counties have relied on the services and support of United Way of the Capital Region. United Way has been changing lives and addressing our community’s most pressing needs from the beginning. While our methods have evolved, one thing remains constant: our commitment to helping those who need it most.
