Description
Join the Capital Region Young Professionals Network and Sunhee’s Community Place in welcoming immigrants and refugees to the Capital Region! This volunteer opportunity will consist of a “speed-dating” style session of English language practice. Volunteers and students will be given instructions and prompts to practice their English conversation skills and get to know each other.
This will be a hybrid volunteer opportunity. After signing up, please email Brandi Landy at BLandy@capitalregionchamber.com to indicate if you prefer to volunteer in person or on Zoom.
About Sunhee’s Community Place:
Sunhee’s Community Place is the non-for-profit, 501(c)(3) branch of Sunhee’s Farm & Kitchen. It is located in Troy, NY, and provides in-house services and support to immigrants & refugees including English classes, resume development, and job counseling. Sunhee's core mission is driven by a passion for food and community, rooted in a Korean-American history, culture and identity we believe can be shared with all people regardless of race, ethnicity or nationality. Through social entrepreneurship, Sunhee's hopes to create a safe space for cultural learning and innovative projects, all threaded together by food.
