Interested in volunteering for a great cause? Join YPN on Sunday, September 10th at the 15th Annual Walk to End Epilepsy at Saratoga Spa State Park, Columbia Pavilion.
YPN Has a team walking as well as volunteer positions available. Please see registration options.
Volunteer Positions Available:
Walk Monitors- In Route - This position will walk with the group of walkers at 11 and help to ensure that walkers stay to the side of the road (as people tend to migrate to the middle) Yellow Safety vests will be provided. Volunteers Need - 8-10.
Walk Monitors - Stationary- For the walk, we station volunteers at certain points along the route so that they can help direct the crowd in the right direction. They also let people know what is the 1-mile route versus the 3-mile route. Yellow Safety vests will be provided. Volunteers Needed = 5 (Can double people at the key points if people would rather do this in pairs! Having 10 would allow more opportunities for volunteers as well!)
Water Bottle Distribution- We have water bottles being donated by Price Chopper. We have the walkers just grab these themselves, due to limited volunteers, but we could certainly have a few people handing them out as people migrate to the start line. Volunteers Needed - 3.
Registration begins at 9:30AM, and the Walk Kicks off at 11AM!
Entertainment, raffle prizes, awards and food vendors (cash preferred) and more will follow the walk!
The EFNENY Walk to END EPILEPSY is a great way to educate people on what epilepsy is and learn about the challenges people with epilepsy face every day. The funds raised at this event will be used to support the programs and services we offer at no cost to an estimated 45,000 people with epilepsy and their families who live in our 22-county service area. Our mission is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy, and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
