Women's Business Council: Leadership Studio - Creating a Culture of Inclusion

Tuesday, May 3, 2022 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Join the Women’s Business Council in our Leadership Studio Session "Creating a Culture of Inclusion". While representation of women has improved, progress has been uneven. There are persistent gaps in the pipeline: promotions from entry or midlevel positions to manager are not equitable, and women lose ground in representation at every level.

Supporting gender inclusion at work starts with acknowledging that changes need to be made and continues with concrete action steps toward investing in the career development, mentorship, and intentional promotion of women within organizations.

Advocacy and community are needed now more than ever, but what does this actually look like in action? In this Leadership Studio session, we will hear from three dynamic leaders as they discuss some of the hurdles, considerations, and intentional ways in which they have contributed to creating a culture of inclusion in various organizations. Attendees will learn strategies and be given tools to assess how they can be a part of the continued growth and development of inclusive practices within their organization.

Panelists:

  • Anzala B. Alozie, JD, Executive Director, Women of Color Network, Inc.
  • Tandra La Grone, Chief Executive Officer, In Our Own Voices
  • Alfredo Medina, Jr., Ph.D. (him/his/él),Vice President of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion & College  Diversity Officer, Title IX Coordinator, Bennington College
