YPN Volunteer Night: Backpack Stuffing for St. Catherine’s Kids 

Join the Young Professionals Network for an impactful evening of service as we partner with St. Catherine’s Center for Children to pack backpacks with school supplies for local youth in need. 

This event is for you if you want to: 

• You’re looking for a hands-on way to give back to the Capital Region community
• You want to connect with fellow young professionals through meaningful volunteer work
• You’re passionate about supporting children in foster care, residential, and homeless services

By attending, you'll be supporting a great cause:

Each year, St. Catherine’s distributes more than 300 new, fully stocked backpacks to children in their programs across 26 counties and 24 school districts. Over 200 backpacks have already been donated—now we need your help to fill them!

Your time and effort will help students begin the school year with confidence, dignity, and the tools they need to thrive.

This event is free to attend. Let’s come together to make a difference—one backpack at a time.

Can’t make it, but still want to help? 

YPN will be accepting donations through July 8 of new school supplies at the Chamber Main office at 5 Computer Drive S.

Items in need:

• Loose-leaf paper (packets – wide or college ruled)
• #2 pencils (sharpened if possible)
• One-, two-, and three-subject notebooks (each backpack gets 3 or 4)
• Two-pocket folders (each backpack gets 6 in different colors)
• Composition notebooks (each backpack gets 4)
• Pens (blue and black)
• Rulers (standard and metric)
• Glue sticks
• Pencil cases
• Large pink erasers and pencil-top erasers
• Tissues (small travel-sized packs preferred)
• Crayons (24-count packs)
• Washable markers
• Blunt-tip scissors
• Highlighters
• Dry-erase markers
• Color pencils
