As a Digital Press Operator, your job is to ensure the efficient operation of a digital printing press. Standard duties of this job are to manipulate color calibration from supplied print files to meet the client's expectations, set up supplies and equipment, and supervise the printing press during each operation. Your responsibilities as a Digital Press Operator also include performing maintenance on machines, reviewing proofs and final product samples before releasing them to customers, cleaning the work area, and monitoring supply levels. Success as a digital press operator requires the ability to interpret work orders and maintain a production schedule.

This Digital Press Operator position has two shifts available for different digital printing presses, HP Indigo 7900 (1st shift) and HPT250 Digital Inkjet Web (2nd shift).

Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Compensation: Hourly rate negotiable based upon prior experience. $21 - $30 per hour


Schedule: 

1st Shift – HP Indigo 7900, Monday – Friday, 6:45am – 3:30pm

2nd Shift – HPT250 Digital Inkjet Web, Monday – Friday, 3pm – 11:30pm

Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Successfully set up press, load job profiles and submit files correctly and accurately to the press for printing.
  • Adjust press settings on computer software for equipment specifications and quality needs.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure color continuity and quality expectations for all printed material throughout press runs.
  • Follow production schedule to meet customer timelines.
  • Perform general daily maintenance routines to ensure equipment is ready to run at optimal level while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Place service calls and work with HP remote and on-site support to troubleshoot press issues.
  • Work with production manager to help maintain paper, press consumable, and spare part inventories.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Digital Press experience is preferred, but training opportunities are available for highly motivated applicants.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
