DIRECTOR, INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN EXPANSION

Location: Albany/Capital Region, NY

The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is looking for a dynamic leader to help shape the future of advanced manufacturing and supplier diversity in New York’s Capital Region.

Whether you’ve led community initiatives, built partnerships across sectors, scaled small businesses, or navigated complex systems from the inside out—your experience matters here. This role is about vision, collaboration, and action. You’ll lead the Semiconductor Growth Access Program (SGAP), a regional initiative focused on strengthening supply chains, expanding opportunity, and driving inclusive growth in the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Lead Strategy and Drive Impact

  • Shape and execute SGAP’s regional strategy in alignment with Empire State Development
  • Oversee program phases: asset mapping, outreach, technical assistance, and performance tracking
  • Supervise one direct report and collaborate across industries and communities 

Build Relationships and Expand Opportunity

  • Engage manufacturers, suppliers, and ecosystem partners
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in the regional supply chain
  • Champion inclusion of Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Individual (SEDI)–owned businesses

Deliver Support and Foster Growth

  • Coordinate expert-led technical assistance in legal, accounting, and financial areas
  • Organize workshops, webinars, and consulting services for small and emerging suppliers
  • Monitor outcomes and share impact stories through performance reporting

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 7+ years of experience in economic development, public policy, manufacturing, industry engagement, business development or related field
  • Understanding of semiconductor or advanced manufacturing sectors a plus
  • Proven leadership in multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Strong analytical, communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven business development and outreach experience
  • Passion for inclusive economic growth and ecosystem building
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Experience working with SEDI-owned businesses or supplier diversity programs a plus


Compensation - Salary range is $85,000 to $95,000. Benefits package includes PTO, generous 401(k), and health/life/LTD insurance.
