Capital Region Chamber seeks Director, Talent Development
This is a meaningful opportunity to impact our region’s future by serving as staff lead for the Chamber’s Leadership Capital Region program and Young Professionals Network (YPN). In this position, you would help design and deliver impactful programming to enhance leadership skills, inspire community engagement, and build strong professional networks to help ensure that the Capital Region remains a thriving place to live, work, and grow.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Execution
• Manage Leadership Capital Region, which is a highly respected interactive skill development and community immersion program that takes place over the course of nine months in a cohort of approximately 45.
• Manage the Capital Region Young Professionals Network, which serves as a catalyst to connect, develop, and empower young professionals by offering professional development, networking, and community engagement opportunities designed to sustain a strong talent pipeline.
• Design, curate, and facilitate high-quality educational content, leveraging subject matter expertise and best practices. Manage logistics, vendor partnerships, and participant experiences.
• Serve as primary facilitator and Chamber representative for sessions and external audiences for these initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and community partners to ensure program sustainability and growth.
• Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial accountability.
• Collaborate to create compelling promotional materials and outreach strategies.
• Measure and report program impact through metrics, feedback, and continuous improvement practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
Volunteer Engagement
• Recruit, inspire, and work in conjunction with volunteers that serve on committees that help shape programming.
• Ensure an environment where volunteers are heard, valued, and appreciated.
• Engage and mobilize participants and alumni for greatest impact for them and our region.
• Assist with facilitation of committee meetings and implement succession planning for sustained volunteer leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program or project management, education delivery, talent development, or a related field.
• Proven success with executing programs and working with volunteers.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with team members, business volunteers, and community partners.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
Compensation: Salary range is $72,000 to $85,000. Benefits package includes PTO, generous 401(k), and health/life/LTD insurance. The Capital Region Chamber is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
