Newscast Director

Media - Print & Broadcast

WRGB/WCWN is looking for a Director for our Newscast.

Responsibilities:

Perform any production duties as assigned including:

  • TD newscasts and other productions using a fully automated control room
  • Prep and maintain production studio and control room
  • Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
  • Works with producers on rundown preparation and show presentation
  • Troubleshoot any problems during newscasts.

Requirements:

  • Experience directing newscasts.  Experience with robotic cameras, Ross Overdrive, Ross Xpression and iNews a plus
  • Knowledge of production standards and equipment
  • Basic knowledge of studio and production equipment such as microphones, IFBs, audio consoles and video switchers
  • Ability to clearly give direction to crew and talent while under pressure
  • Typing and good spelling skills
  • Ability to read and write
  • College degree preferred
  • Must be able to lift & position 40 lb. lighting instruments.

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $16.35 to $18.75 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
