This position is for the 11PM-7AM overnight shift at the Joan Nicole Prince Home. 

Experienced PCA/HHA/CNA/LPN/RN are invited! Must be dependable and have reliable transportation. Subcontractors must work a 4 hour volunteer shift within one month of their paid hours/shift (s) of coverage.

To provide a safe, comfortable and caring residence for terminally ill people in need of a home during their final days.

The Joan Nicole Prince Home is a 2-bed non-profit comfort home that cares for terminally ill individuals at the end of life, free of charge! Our residents are individuals with the greatest need and fewest options at the end of life- our Home provides the comforts of Home, with a spacious backyard, individual bedrooms/bathrooms, living room, full kitchen, and open visiting hours. It is at our Home that residents get to live their final days comforted by family, loved ones, and kind volunteers in a home-like environment. To date, we have served over 225 individuals of all races, ethnicity, religions, and expect to serve between 15-20 annually. As a registered 501 (c)(3), our Home is run solely on donations, grants. Resident care is provided Monday- Sunday 7A-11P by trained volunteers & staff, with subcontractors covering overnight hours.

The Joan Nicole Prince Home is a 501(c)(3) non-profit run 100% on donations and grants from the community- this means we are unable to provide medical benefits, but we are able to provide time off, a welcoming, friendly work environment & flexibility in your schedule!

POSITION:

1. Provide each resident with total bedside care during the hours of 11pm-7am, dependent upon each resident’s care plan. Other responsibilities include household chores and providing support to residents and their loved ones. Oversight of care and care plan is provided by staff and Hospice. 

2. Must provide each resident with a bed bath or shower during the shift, documenting completion or refusal in the narrative section of residents binder.

3. Complete narrative, medication charts, to the fullest existent each shift, using initials to document completion. 

4. Communicate with on-call staff and Hospice in cases of emergency, deaths, and questions, etc.

5. Must complete one 4 hour volunteer shift per week of coverage.  

6. Complete the Overnight Care Invoice as follows: $15.00/hour for all 11pm-7am shift coverage per week.  Please be sure to sign the form before leaving it on the Executive Director’s desk or under the office door. Checks are written & distributed on Tuesdays.

7. The Executive Director must have the following on file: name, address, phone number, social security number, copy of driver's license, and any nursing certifications.  A 1099 will be filed at the end of the calendar year for those who qualify.

SCHEDULE:

Schedule is somewhat flexible but we ask for AT LEAST one overnight shift a week! 

REQUIREMENTS:

- 1- 2+ Years Nursing or Caregiving credential (preferred)

- 1- 2+ Years End of Life Care/Hospice/Palliative/Home Care/Geriatric experience (preferred)

- 1- 2+ Years Health or human services experience

- 1- 2+ Years Education & Training experience

- This position is perfect for new or retired nurses/caregivers!


SALARY

Pay is hourly and is $15 an hour.
