Program Manager (part-time)

Objective/Summary of Responsibilities
The part-time (60%) position primarily supports the Center for Economic Growth’s Manufacturing Solutions initiatives. This position plays a key role in program development, implementation, and support, as well as partner/vendor/client relationship development and management. The key focus areas for this role include manufacturing, innovation, and workforce.

Job Functions

Manufacturing Solutions Network – 20%
• Coordinate a series of Webex educational sessions and 2-3 annual in-person events for manufacturers in the Capital Region. Responsibilities include associated administration, presenter prep, event logistics, and interfacing with CEG’s marketing team to promote the events

What’s So Cool About Manufacturing Program– 70% (WSCM)
The What’s So Cool About Manufacturing® (WSCM) community career awareness program is a project-based, real-world learning experience for middle school students. The program is executed as a video competition where 7th and 8th grade student teams are partnered with a unique manufacturer to feature in their profile video. The program culminates with online voting by the public and an “Emmy-like” Awards event to increase awareness about exciting career opportunities with manufacturers in the community.

• Act as the primary point of contact (POC) and program manager for the execution of the WSCM program. This includes interacting with middle school principals, teacher coaches, vendors, sponsors, and manufacturers. Work closely with the marketing team to develop/promote WSCM and execute the annual awards event

• Main POC with Pennsylvania Manufacturing Extension Partnership (program developer)

• Adhere to all grant requirements, including data capture and reporting.

Other Related Program Activities – 10%
• Act as Liaison for Startup Tech Valley events. Assist with registration at events (monthly)

• Occasionally support other staff members with various programs and event efforts.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in program management, project management, or similar

• Willingness and ability to occasionally attend various events beyond regular office hours

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and

• Familiarity with Customer Management Systems (CRM), preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain exceptional organizational skills

• Highly organized and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced team environments

• Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive mindset; quick to learn, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence.

Compensation: $25 to $35 per hour
