QA Manager - Manufacturing

Alaant Workforce Solutions is is actively recruiting for a Quality Manager in Johnstown, NY to join a leading manufacturing organization. This full-time, direct-hire position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet or exceed quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The Quality Manager will drive continuous improvement, lead quality teams, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to enhance product reliability and performance.

Hours and Benefits for the QA Manager - Manufacturing
 

  • Salary $70,000 - $80,000
  • Medical / Dental / Vision

Responsibilities for the QA Manager – Manufacturing

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and manage Quality Inspection staff
  • Oversee daily workflow and scheduling for the quality department

Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Identify and document quality issues, working proactively to resolve them
  • Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement

Compliance, Standards, and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions
  • Prepare and present quality reports and metrics to management
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and other industry regulations

Requirements for the QA Manager - Manufacturing

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or a similar role within a machine shop or contract manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards and experience in an ISO-regulated environment
  • Proficiency in quality management systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with quality measurement tools and software
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) knowledge
  • Strong familiarity with various metals and material characteristics
