Qualified Nutritionist/CPA (Competent Professional Authority) - WIC Program
The LifeWorks Community Action WIC Program supports the nutritional health and well-being of new and expectant mothers in Saratoga County. Job Duties: Performs nutrition-related duties under the supervision of a Qualified Nutritionist, including determining nutrition risk, prescribing supplemental foods, and providing participant centered nutrition education to participants. In addition, the CPA works in conjunction with the Qualified Nutritionist when providing nutrition education / counseling to High Risk participants.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate health-related field with at least 6 hours in nutrition; or
Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s Degree; or
Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR)
Experience/ Job Knowledge:
- Two years of experience working with children and/or families preferred. Must be computer literate. Must complete state approved QN/CPA training within six months of employment and other trainings as required.
- Above average organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently, good interpersonal skills, and ability to maintain a positive attitude with staff and clientele. Ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgment. Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse social and economic backgrounds.
- Must possess a driver’s license and be insurable to operate agency vehicles. May occasionally be required to drive own vehicle to temporary site or trainings.
Position offers $21.00 per hour and works 35 hours per week.
